Taken in Cyprus.
I was less interested in the horizon here than in what happened at the edge. The water struck the rock hard enough to lose its shape, breaking into foam, spray, and movement before gathering itself again.
The coastline in Cyprus can feel dry, rough, and almost severe, which made the water seem even more alive against it. I liked the friction between the two, the sea never quite winning and the stone never quite untouched.
I took the photograph for that moment of impact. Not the calm before it or the quiet after, but the instant when water becomes force.
