Úda is a soft, unwhipped body melt composed around the richness of botanical butters and oils.
The name draws from the Lokono (Arawak) word uda, meaning “skin,” and also “bark.” The Lokono are among the Indigenous peoples with a long presence in Trinidad. We chose the name for its closeness to the purpose of the formula: something made to meet the skin directly, protect its surface, and become part of the daily act of caring for the body.
Cupuaçu and kokum form the body of Úda, joined by unrefined shea butter and virgin coconut oil for a dense, deeply emollient base. Meadowfoam seed oil brings a silkier movement through the heavier butters, while local beeswax gives the melt enough structure to remain held in the jar without turning it into a hard balm. Mixed tocopherols complete the formulation.
Úda is not whipped. Its texture is smooth, rich, and yielding, softening readily beneath the warmth of the fingers and melting across the skin with a substantial, protective finish.
There is no added fragrance. Its subtle aroma and warm natural tone come from the raw materials themselves.

Composition & Feel
Úda is built around a high proportion of plant butters, giving it a richer and more substantial character than a conventional lotion or whipped body butter.
Cupuaçu butter gives the melt its supple, cushion-like body.
Kokum butter brings firmness and a clean, dense structure without making the formula waxy.
Meadowfoam seed oil introduces slip and fluidity through the heavier butters.
Unrefined shea butter contributes richness and a naturally emollient finish.
Virgin coconut oil softens readily with body heat and helps the melt move easily across the skin.
Local beeswax gives the formula gentle structure and leaves a light protective veil over the skin.
Mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E) help protect the oils and butters from oxidation.
The finished texture is soft and uniform, dense enough to remain in place in the jar, yet yielding enough to melt almost immediately against warm skin.

Úda is prepared by hand in Studio Nadi Sangama, Trinidad & Tobago, in small batches.
The butters, oils, beeswax, and tocopherols are brought together without water, synthetic fragrance, or conventional emulsifiers. The formula is poured rather than whipped, preserving its dense, smooth character and keeping the product concentrated.
What fills the jar is the formulation itself, without water added for volume or air incorporated through whipping.
How to Use
Take a small amount with clean, dry fingers and allow it to soften against the warmth of the skin.
Massage slowly over the body until the melt has spread into a thin, even layer.
Because Úda is concentrated and water free, a little goes a long way. It can be used on dry skin or applied after bathing while the skin still holds a trace of moisture.
Pay particular attention to areas that tend to feel dry or exposed, such as hands, elbows, knees, legs, and feet.
Care & Climate
Úda is made entirely from butters, oils, and waxes, so its texture will respond naturally to temperature.
In warmer conditions it will become softer and more yielding. In cooler conditions it will become firmer. This movement is normal for an anhydrous botanical formula and does not affect the integrity of the product.
Store closed, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Always use clean, dry hands or a clean cosmetic spatula to avoid introducing water into the jar.
