The Artist-Led Body of Work
Studio Nadi Sangama holds the original creative work of Marc Anthony and Alice Minicozzi.
This is where the work remains closest to the hand of the artist. A piece may take the form of a vessel, sculptural object, handmade form, wall work, photograph, print, surface study, or another expression still emerging.
The Studio is grounded in material transformation, image, object, surface, memory, and return. Each work is shaped through close attention to form, process, and the history carried by the materials themselves.
A Note on Materials & Place
Material is central to the work of Nadi Sangama, and much of that material begins here in Trinidad.
Our clay vessels are formed from wild clay gathered by hand from the land around us. The clay is processed in small batches, shaped by hand, dried slowly, and fired in ways that preserve the irregularity and character of the material. Its colour, texture, grit, and response to fire are determined by the ground it came from, making each vessel inseparable from place.
Across the Studio and Earthmade, we continue to work with materials that carry a direct relationship to the island: local beeswax, plant oils, wood, botanicals, reclaimed matter, and other materials chosen for both their physical qualities and their provenance.
We are interested in material not simply as something to work with, but as a record of place. What is gathered, shaped, burned, worn, or transformed retains something of where it began.
